For sale this absolutely stunning scallop shaped’Victoria Pattern’ Herend porcelain dish. This dish is unusually large and has a charming floral butterfly design set on a white background with a gold painted border. This is one of the most well known Herend patterns winning a gold medal award at the World Exhibition in 1851. In fact, this pattern was presented at the London World Exhibition in 1851, this Chinese-style butterflies and flowery branches painted in bright colours. Queen Victoria actually bought the dinner set with this pattern for Windsor Castle, so quite a royal connection indeed. Herend porcelain was made for royalty and aristocracy in Hungary and abroad. This dish dates back from around 1930 as the mark on the base indicates this. This late Herend Victoria pattern is now discontinued and so is rare and Collectable. Condition Report: This dish is in remarkably good condition with only age related signs of wear to the base, see photos, otherwise this is in very good condition for its age with no cracks or signs damage.
