An early version of the Queen Victoria pattern on a rare soup cup and saucer with its lid made by Herend in about 1915. It is hard to find their antique pieces and this is one of my favorite patterns by them so I was excited. The set is hand painted with the typical flowers and butterflies along with the green and gold rim typical of this pattern. The rim has a basket weave design in relief and the cup has two nicely shaped handles. The lid has the same design to it and a nice floral finial. Both the cup and the saucer are marked underneath with their blue shield under the crown mark as shown as well as an impressed 1713 (I think) under the cup and the impressed Herend stamp and an incised number 1725 underneath the saucer. The set is in perfect condition. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 6.25 inches in diameter and the lid is about 1.5 inches tall and has a diameter of just under 4 inches.
